Our editorial purpose
FundPath creates plain-language guides and calculators that help Canadians identify questions to ask before contacting a financing provider. Educational pages must explain important costs, limitations and alternatives rather than present borrowing as universally beneficial.
How we research
For regulatory and consumer-information claims, we prioritize primary sources such as the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, Bank of Canada, Statistics Canada, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, provincial regulators and legislation. Commercial sources may provide context, but are not treated as independent proof of their own products.
Review and update process
- Material factual claims should be supported by a visible source or removed.
- Time-sensitive figures must include a date and be reviewed before republication.
- Calculator methodology, assumptions and limitations must be visible.
- Provider-controlled outcomes must never be represented as FundPath guarantees.
- Pages display a reviewed or modified date when timing matters.
Affiliate relationships
FundPath may receive compensation when a visitor continues to a partner. Affiliate links are labelled in the HTML with rel="sponsored". Compensation does not change the mathematical output of FundPath calculators. Visitors should independently review provider disclosures and compare alternatives.
Corrections
When we identify a material error, we correct the page and update its reviewed date. Questions or correction requests can be submitted through the contact information provided in the FundPath privacy policy.
Privacy and calculators
The mortgage refinance calculator runs in the visitor’s browser. Its scenario values are stored only in browser session storage so the page can preserve entries during the session. The calculator page does not transmit those values to FundPath.
Important limitation
FundPath content is general educational information. It is not individualized financial, legal, tax or credit advice and does not replace a provider’s disclosure or advice from an appropriately qualified professional.
